Happy Birthday, Raise the River. We are 1 today. Aw!

To celebrate, we’re offering a little gift - The Official Raise the River Poker Podcast: Episode Five - the ‘birthday present’ edition.

If you haven’t listened to one of these podcasts before or didn’t take the previous format, try this one as we’ve gone for a more traditional approach.

I’m joined by co-host Burnley Mik as we make our way through all that’s going in at RTR as well as WSOP news and general poker talk.

Enjoy and remember, feedback and support for future podcasts is welcome.

Raise the River Podcast: EPT Special

March 20, 2008

As some of you may know, Burnley Mik entered an EPT satelite at the weekend and he was generous to do a live commentary of it. As a special one-off bonus, this is his live commentary.

Warning - explicit Burnley Mik from the start.

Feedback welcome again. When nobody says anything bad or anything at all we assume we’re doing a good job, only your comments can affect change when and where it is needed.

Episode three will be released mid-late March.

Thanks for listening,

Raise the River Podcast: Episode 2

March 20, 2008

The Official Raise the River Podcast: Episode Two - the ‘ever-so slighty more professional’ edition.
This one is even bigger than the first! - although a 60 min format will be adopted from now on.

News
Live reporting - mik’s live and hilarious report on the Premier league finale!
UK Pokerscene roundup
Open mic session - mik, jimi and myself chat about bankroll management
Poker Trivia

And so much more!

General notes. Sound issues have been solved and the quality is ‘as recorded’. Some segments from the first edition do not make it into this edition for no other reason than the show was over-running. No interview was planned for this ep, one is planned for next ep Album cover work is included now so if you have an mp3 player that supports that function you should see a pic like my avatar.

Enjoy and don’t forget, feedback is welcome and wanted. We need to know what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong. There aren’t many, if any, uk poker forums that have a dedicated podcast and we want to continue to take RTR to new heights - just so we can go to new lows when variance kicks in.

And so much more!

I made a mistake uploading it last night onto my own webspace so it’s currently on this site - no registration needed, just slower download speed. If anyone would like to host it somewhere with quick bandwidth please do.

Just a couple of things to mention. I know that sound quality is poor in some areas and I don’t think it’s entirely the fault of the mic. I think it’s because I’m using at least a hundred different sound layers which have been compressed a couple of times that gives that ‘under water effect’ in some places. As I’ve explained before, this the first time I’ve dabbled in radio production.

Also, while this is 90 minutes long it, hopefully won’t feel like it. It’s broken up into loads of segments so you can listen to bits in the car, in the shower, on the toilet etc. You don’t need to try and take it all in in one sitting. Although in saying this I doubt future podcast will be this long - got far too complicated towards the end.

I hope you enjoy the podcast and remember, only two people put together this podcast - Burnley Mik and myself. Just imagine how great it can be if more people contribute to it.

Thanks to RTR for giving me the chance to do this.

Feedback welcome and wanted! Both the good and the bad.
